Employee Training Portal – Tor Field

Welcome to Torrent! As part of our ongoing Safety program, all Torrent employees are required to access and complete our online safety training materials. This is a mandatory requirement.

Here are the things you need to know:

1. Please watch the Portal Navigation/Orientation Video  before doing anything else to familiarize yourself with the portal and how’ll you’ll access it in the beginning.
2. The link to the Portal Navigation/Orientation Video is https://vimeo.com/265082873/08fd48ac70  You’ll use Vericlock to record your time spent on all the videos and accompanying quizzes in the portal. You’ll see in the video how to use Vericlock to record your time against each specific training item in the portal. Each item has a specific code.
3. The job code you should use in Vericlock when you watch the Portal Navigation/Orientation Video is:  Portal Demo Video
4. You should also view the Helpful Quiz Pointer video to ensure you know how to review any quiz questions you didn’t answer correctly. The link to this video is https://goo.gl/bVR4ip
5. Every person will be assigned materials based upon their job at Torrent. This will ensure that materials are directly applicable to your daily tasks and responsibilities.
6. We’ve started our content roll-out with Safe Work Procedures or SWP’s for short.  We have uploaded a number that are ready to go, but there will be lots more coming as materials are completed. You’ll receive an email each time we release new material on the portal.
7. Our Safety Training is mandatory. You are responsible for watching each of the videos in your job series and for taking the accompanying quizzes once you have completed viewing the videos. Please be aware that a quiz will not appear until you have finished watching that specific video in their entirety.
8. Because these are safety related materials, you must get 100% on the quiz in order to gain your certificate of completion. If you don’t get 100% on your first try, don’t worry, you can easily take the quiz again! BIG HINT: All the answers are contained in the video. If you get a question wrong, just watch the video again and look for that specific topic. The answer is definitely there!
9. There are also written version of each Safe Work Procedure that accompany each training video. You’ll see a button marked PDF and by clicking on it, you’ll be able to access the written version.
10. Your course certificates for successfully completed modules will be loaded into your personnel file so that we can keep track of all the training you have successfully undertaken.

12. Your time spent on training, as well as your achievements, will be monitored regularly to ensure that you are accessing the materials provided and that you are spending appropriate time against each training module. We have developed standards for the amount of time that you will reasonably needed to complete each module and achieve your certificate. If it becomes apparent that an undue amount of time is being devoted to any training materials, you will be contacted directly to ensure that you have the support you need to be successful and that you get back on track with regards spending the appropriate amount of time devoted to training intake.
13. The online training is accessible from any computer, tablet or smart phone; basically anywhere you can receive an internet connection and on any device. If you do not have personal access to the internet, please let your direct supervisor know and arrangements will be made for you to take the training at our offices using a Torrent supplied internet connection.
14. Finally, no training is to be done as “overtime” hours without prior written approval from your direct supervisor. Training time must be worked into your regular time work schedule.
